Revolution Convention: Day 4 – Saturday, June 1st

The week just came and went, and before we knew it, we so quickly reached our final day at the Revolution Convention. In true SendOutCards style, there was an immense amount of gratitude, exciting surprises, and of course, lots of fun! Saturday featured two remarkable general sessions with any array of amazing speakers, including New York Times Best-Selling Author, Jay Baer, among many others. The day (and event) wrapped up by celebrating our SOC SuperHeroes at the unforgettable closing party. Read the entire recap below.

Morning General Session

Founder and CEO Kody Bateman rolled into the morning session in true Revolution style — on his Harley! Riding next to Kody was his son-in-law Todd Jensen, CIO Steve Terry, Eagle DeMarr Zimmerman, General Manager Jerame Schulz, and Senior Executive (and Distributor of the Year) Dave Smith.

After making his way to the stage, Kody invited VP of Marketing Vanessa Hunter and President of Field Operations Steve Schulz, on stage to recognize the SendOutCards million dollar earners: DeMarr Zimmerman, David Frey, Jimmy & Kathy Dick, Bob & Betty Ann Golden, Jim Packard, Jeff Packard, Diane Walker, Kathy Paauw, David Pollard, Dave & Lori Smith, and Jordan Adler. Next, the Eagles were invited to the stage to help Kody recognize all the Senior Managers in the audience.

Featured Speakers

Following the recognition were two great speakers, Eagle Jordan Adler who discussed the monumental shift happening with Sendcere. Then Vanessa Hunter captivated the crowd by sharing her story and emphasizing the importance of sticking together and helping uplift one another.

Keynote Speaker: Jay Baer

Best-selling author Jay Baer delivered this year’s keynote and it was truly unforgettable. You may have seen some of Jay’s wisdom in our live Tweets from earlier today or heard the buzz from our distributors on social media about Jay’s incredibly engaging and informative talk on building Youtility. Jay gave sound advice to our guests on creating social movement and discussed how Sendcere will be a huge and revolutionizing advancement to share and spread the SendOutCards mission.

The morning general session concluded with a very special recognition from Kody to all the Distributor of the Year nominees: Linda Thomas, Michael & Suzy Duffy, Mike Roy, Phebe Trotman, Laurie Delk, and Todd Falcone; Runner-up: Jules Price; And winners: Dave & Lori Smith.

Afternoon General Session

The momentum continued in the afternoon session with original new music, special announcements, recognition, and the official State of SOC with the Corporate Executive Team.

But first, VP of Marketing Vanessa Hunter came to the stage to give away 2 iPhones to two randomly selected attendees who correctly completed the SOC Expo Quiz from Friday’s event. Guests were then serenaded by Double R in a medley of famous Kody B. original songs.

Featured Speaker

“Failure cannot handle persistence.” – Steve Schulz

President of Field Operations took the stage to share his story, discussing the 80/20 Rule and encouraging the crowd to stay positive and to focus on their success instead of being easily discouraged by the success of others.

State of SOC

Creating a “board room” environment for all of our guests, we invited the entire Corporate Executive Team to the stage to deliver the State of SOC. The team included: General Manager Jerame Schulz, VP of International Operations Paul Gerardis, Chief Information Officer Steve Terry, VP of Human Resources Jannette Roach, VP of Marketing Vanessa Hunter, founder & CEO Kody Bateman, President of Field Operations Steve Schulz, VP of Finance Kim Bateman, VP of Publishing Melody Forshee, VP of Compliance Glen Bogue

The team discussed the early days of SendOutCards, the present day, and the future plans, all of which strategically connect to one another.

Upcoming Events & 2015 Annual Convention

Steve and Vanessa returned to the big stage to give the crowd some very special announcements on upcoming events and a reminder regarding the June Summer Sizzle. In addition, they also announced the theme, date and location of the 2015 Annual Convention with the help of very special guests…

And the theme is… drumroll please… The Magic Begins With You, taking place at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, September 9-12, 2015! Early bird prices available now for $99. Purchase now by visiting:

To wrap up not only a wonderful day but also an incredible four days, Kody’s wife, Jodi Bateman, took the stage to share her gratitude with her twin sister, the corporate staff and all members of the amazing SendOutCards family. Kody recognized the hardworking staff that made this special event possible and closed with the brand new original song: Revolution, written by Kody B. and performed by Double R and Baltimore.

“Start a revolution. Treat people right, call it restitution.”

What a fabulous business opportunity we have in our hands. Although it is not for everyone, it is for those that see the value, and find a place for them to share the value. Thanks to our leadership for finding a way to make a $1 greeting card lucrative!
