September 21st happens to be the day in which two worldwide actions are celebrated – and what a fitting combination we believe that to be. Today, let’s come together as the human race and celebrate International Day of Peace & World Gratitude Day.
International Day of Peace
The United Nations created the International Day of Peace, which was first celebrated in 1982. This day has been declared as a day that is devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
World Gratitude Day
The celebration began in 1965 in Hawaii, when an international gathering decided that it would be good to have one day a year where people express gratitude and appreciation for the many wonderful things they have to be thankful for. The awareness of the benefits of having time in one’s life for gratitude, appreciation and positive reflection have become increasingly apparent.
We encourage you to celebrate today and schedule yourself a bit of time for self-reflection. Use today as a day to reconnect with the feelings of peace and gratitude that can be brought into your life as daily reminders of how blessed you are. #Blessed
